Partner Program Roadmap
One roadmap covers one partner organization and both paths if you are on both. It answers three questions: where you stand today, what to pursue next and in what order, and what each step will take from your team.
What it covers
- Services Path tier moves, for example Select to Advanced, against the published tier requirements
- Software Path validation and what the FTR needs from you on the current route
- Competency fit and sequencing, including the AI Competency and its agentic categories
- Funding programs your current tier and validations make you eligible for
What you get
- A written roadmap: current standing, ranked next steps, and a gap list with owner and level of effort for each
- A 60-minute walkthrough
- The questions worth asking your AWS partner team, so you confirm eligibility before you invest
- Price
- $1,500 fixed
- Turnaround
- 10 business days from read access
- Payment
- In full up front, card or ACH
Software Partner Launch
For software companies taking a GenAI product to AWS customers. I build or harden the product on AWS, run the Well-Architected review and fix what it finds before the FTR, prepare the Marketplace listing materials, and line up what co-sell eligibility asks for. Scope, milestones, and a not-to-exceed cap are agreed in writing first.
What co-sell eligibility asks for, per the published AWS requirements:
- One or more software products listed as generally available in AWS Marketplace
- Eligibility for the ACE program
- Validated or Differentiated status in AWS Partner Central
- An Amazon Payee Central account
- A minimum of launched opportunities (ACE or AWS Marketplace Private Offers) in the past 12 months
- A minimum of qualified ACE opportunities in the past 12 months
- At least one person who completed the Co-Selling with AWS learning module
- A minimum of recognized AWS account revenue at enrollment
What changed in 2025 and 2026
- AWS Service Delivery and AWS Service Ready Specializations will be deprecated on June 1, 2027, and new applications are closed. Source
- The Foundational Technical Review (FTR) is now completed by submitting a SOC 2 Type II report or an AWS Well-Architected Framework Review report in Partner Central, with results in minutes: approval or remediation steps. AWS announced this on June 16, 2026. Source
- The AWS AI Competency, which replaced the earlier competency for generative AI, has three agentic categories: Agentic AI Applications, Agentic AI Tools, and Agentic AI Consulting Services. Partners must be validated or differentiated on the Services or Software Path before applying. Source
- AWS launched an AI agent in Partner Central that gives immediate feedback on AI Specialization applications. Source
Partner Central now checks the format of an application quickly. A review still matters for what an automated check cannot judge: whether the evidence, numbers, and customer outcomes hold up.
Checked October 2026.
Not a fit if
- You want a new Service Delivery or Service Ready specialization. AWS has closed new applications for both.
- You need a guarantee of approval. Nobody can give one; AWS decides.
- You need anything that depends on non-public AWS information. I work only from published requirements.
- You want certifications or opportunities produced for you. Those are earned by your team.
If one of these is you, the first call will say so. That's the point of it.
Questions
Do you still help with Service Delivery or Service Ready?
Not for new specializations. AWS closed new applications for both, and both retire on June 1, 2027. If you hold one today, the roadmap covers which competency or validation to pursue instead.
What does the FTR take now?
The Foundational Technical Review (FTR) is now completed by submitting a SOC 2 Type II report or an AWS Well-Architected Framework Review report in Partner Central, with results in minutes: approval or remediation steps. AWS announced this on June 16, 2026. An approved FTR earns the Qualified Software badge and program eligibility, with access to benefits that include the AWS Competency Program and the AWS ISV Accelerate Program. My part is the Well-Architected review remediation and evidence the submission needs.
Can you get my company to Advanced tier?
I can plan it and write the Partner Business Plan and supporting material. The certifications, accreditations, and launched opportunities the tier requires come from your team and your customers, so the roadmap tells you exactly which ones are missing.
Which competency should my company start with?
The one your recent customer work already proves. For GenAI and agent work that is usually the AI Competency, which requires validated or differentiated status first. The roadmap confirms fit before you write anything.
Do you guarantee approval?
No. AWS makes every approval decision.
